However, there is a difference between diffusion that can only reach a maximum of 100% (as the share of the market that has adopted a new technique, variety, etc., as a function of time – e.g., PhD thesis of Zvi Griliches on hybrid corn) and the growth of technology that does not necessarily have an upper limit. So, examples of the first may not be useful in making your point.
