The US Census data shows that, just in terms of trade, the US debt went from 6million dollars in 1985, to 103billion in 2002, to 256billion in 2007. Today, it is estimated that this debt is growing at a reasonable 25million a month. of course, these figures exclude any financial debt.

If everyone thinks that we can spend our way out of a recession that would be ridiculous. The ones who made it during the Depression were teh ones who had saved money and could buy goods when everyone was selling.
