Expensive bangers are quite a big disincentive to most families who – especially at present – do not feel they can, literally, watch their earnings go up in smoke.

Do you really think it true that there are more organised displays now? There may be bigger and better marketed ones, today, but I certainly remember hanging around in the cold on numerous November evenings in the late 60s and early 70s, waiting for an organised display to begin.
